Legislation and By-Laws Committee
PTA local units are kept aware of legislative issues that
affect
children everywhere through contact with national, state, and other local PTAs. Local
PTAs also keep up to date on issues that affect children in their own
community.
These issues are brought to the PTA members through bulletins,
special programs, memos, letters, and the media.
The Lopatcong Township PTA's by-laws are reviewed and updated every
three years as required by the NJ State PTA. By-laws are presented to and
approved by the general PTA membership and then sent to county and state PTA for
adoption. A copy of the approved by-laws are always available at all
PTA meetings as kept by the secretary of the organization.
The by-laws contain the basic policies of the national
and state PTAs and contain adopted provisions that pertain to our local PTA.
